How to Start a Business

President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela received standing ovations for saying:

“There is a silent and terrible ghost in the room and that ghost was called capitalism. Our revolution seeks to help all people…socialism, the other ghost that is probably wandering around this room, that’s the way to save the planet, capitalism is the road to hell….let’s fight against capitalism and make it obey us.”

I would understand the standing ovation if he were speaking to the old Politburo in the USSR, or to Cuba’s Castro birthday party.   But not to the Copenhagen delegates trying to fight global warming.  Why are these delegates so excited about bad-mouthing capitalism?

You must read Michael Crighton’s State of Fear.  It beautifully describes the how the death of Communism in the USSR directly lead to the current environmental movement. Same people.  Same ideas.  Same goals.
